About Hungary

Hungary is a landlocked country of Central Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is surrounded by Serbia to the south, Romania to the East, Slovakia to the North, Croatia to the southwest, Austria to the northwest. Hungary has 35 landscape protection areas, 10 national parks and 145 minor nature reserves. Budapest the capital, is the largest city of Hungary that attracts 4.4 million sightseers every year. Student Visa Requirements

Students coming from other countries must arrange their student visa before arriving in Hungary. Please, make sure that your passport is valid for at least 18 months and hand in your application for the student visa well in advance. Arranging your visa may take 60 days, although it is usually issued within 4 weeks. However, transiting to other countries or foreign airports may require a transit visa also.

These are the necessary documents needed to get a student visa for Hungary.

1.Visa application form
2.Passport (must be valid for at least 18 months, but preferably valid until the end of your studies.)
3.Three passport-size photograph
4.Acceptance Letter from the university/college in English and in Hungarian
5.(transit visa if needed)
6.Bank receipt of a transfer of tuition fee payment or a Payment Certificate from the university or from College International
7.Visa fee (equivalent to ca. USD 50)
8. The Embassy may ask for your aeroplane reservation or fare ticket
9. The Embassy may ask for a proof of accommodation
Upon submitting the application candidates are also required to submit a copy of their passport. Original passports would only be required for authentication.

The embassy has the reserve right for asking any other authentication. Incomplete applications would not be accepted. Visa processing depends upon the nationality of the candidate. All regulations consular fees or services are subject to change without any prior notice.
